Bowmore 16 Year Old 1992 Wine Matured 70 cl

The creation of this exeptional malt whisky stated in 1992; the barley was carefully malted, hand turned and traditioanlly peat kilb dried at the ditillery. after mashing, fermentation and slow distillation the spirit was finally decanted into American Bourbon barrels on the 3rd of february 1992.

For six years this spirit was imparted with light spicy vanillan notes from the Bourbon barresl. On the 20th of November 1998 the golden sprit was transfered to Limousin Bourdeaux casks to breaht in the subtle tannins and rich fruit flavours from the oak wood. Eventually in July 2008 the precious liquid was filled into bottles at it's natural cask strenght of 53.5% abv

 

 

 

TASTING NOTES
Colour: Deep Red Copper

Nose: Ripe red berries, sugared almonds and butterscotch balanced with a damp earth smokiness.

Palate: Rich, sweet andsmoky followed by a hint of Atlantic sea salt.

Finish: A warm long deep fusion of juicy ripe berries and ther trademark Bowmore smokiness.
