Bowmore 16 Year Old 1991 Port Matured 70 cl

This limited edition is the third and final in a series of different wood expresions of Bowmore. It has spent sixteen years maturing in 24 port casks held safe in the famous Bowmore Vaults below sea level.

The hand crafting of this exceptional malt whisky started back in 1991 and was laid down to mature in fresh port pipes. For sixteen years the casks have quietly rested, undisturbed in the deep, dark Bowmore vaults. Finally the almost mahogany coloured rich spirit was decanted straight from the casks to the bottle.

TASTING NOTES

Colour: Ruby Red.

Nose: Rich stewed fruit berries, sweet black cherries and hints of bitter dark chocolate underlines by a lighter Bowmore smokiness.

Palate: Warm and rounded, packed full of fruit flavours' of brambles and damson jam followed by a subtle earthy peat smoke.

Finish: Warm and satisfying.
